Ages 12+ | CPS Canadian Power Squadron
This certification is mandatory for all persons operating a VHF radio on board a pleasure craft (kayak to yacht). Study sessions include all material covered by the exam that must be passed to receive your permanent certificate from Industry Canada. Participants who wish to write the exam should ensure they have a working knowledge of the phonetic alphabet. A course workbook, which serves as a great reference manual, is available for purchase from the instructor. Persons who have their ROC-M are welcome to attend these study sessions to review the material and update their knowledge, especially of DSC (digital selective calling).
