Awareness of how our feet interact and touch the ground can play a huge role; not only with what happens at the lower leg, but also up the body chain. Whether you have a history of shin splints, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, wear orthotics or hip, knee problems, taking the foot and ankle into consideration (not only in isolation, but in connection with the rest of the body) can go a long way towards having a body you are in control of so you can do the thing you love.
