My name is John Uhlig, I’m 18 years old, and I grew up playing soccer on Gabriola Island.
Soccer has been my passion since I was young and I’ve played with many clubs including Gabriola Soccer Association, Nanaimo United FC, and Vancouver Island Wave in the BC Soccer Premier League.
I also played at a soccer boarding school in Munich, Germany called Deutsches Fussball Internat, against youth teams such as Bayern Munich, Augsburg, and Ingolstadt.
Playing soccer isn’t my only passion, as I also enjoy helping younger players develop the same love for the game that I have!
I’ve coached academy soccer with Nanamo United for over a year, and I also co-coached a U12 REP team during the 2021/22 season.
My goal at GSA is to help every player I coach to learn about soccer, to develop their skills, and to have an awesome time!
